چکیده

An analytical study is presented for the performance of fast frequency-hopping (FFH) self-normalized orthogonal -ary frequency-shift-keyed (MFSK) noncoherent receivers in the presence of multitone jamming. The multiple equal-power jamming tones are assumed to correspond to some of the possible FFH/ -ary orthogonal signaling tones. It has been shown that a higher diversity order (the number of hops per symbol) improves significantly the worst case performance of the self-normalized receivers against multitone jamming and reduces the fading effect of jamming tones. There exists an optimum value of modulation order ( ) that maximizes the worst case performance of the self-normalized MFSK receiver.

Multiple-dwell and sequential code acquisition with diversity for FFH/MFSK spread-spectrum systems under band multitone jamming

Pseudonoise code acquisition is investigated for constant hopping rate fast frequency-hopped (FFH)/M -ary frequency-shift keying systems under the effects of white Gaussian noise and band multitone jamming. In particular, serial search acquisition systems based on the traditional multiple-dwell test (up to three dwells) and three novel sequential tests are analyzed and compared. Analytical resu...

Error probabilities and performance comparisons of FFH/BFSK receivers with multitone jamming and AWGN

This paper studies the bit-error rate (BER) performance of a fast frequency-hopped (FFH) binary frequency-shift-keying (BFSK) clipper receiver in the presence of multitone jamming (MTJ) and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). By using the Taylor-series expansion and the quantization approach, the BER expressions for higher diversity levels can be obtained without much extra computational comp...

Multitone Jamming Rejection of Ffh/bfsk Self-normalizing Receiver

A computationally eficient bit-error rate (BER) expression for a fast frequency-hopped binary frequencysr’rift-keying (FFH/BFSK) spread-spectrum (SS) communication system is derived based on Taylor-series expansion. The I’FH system employs a soft-decision self-normalizing receiver against the worst-case multitone jamming (MTJ) and additive white Gaussian noise (A WGN). The analytical BER perfor...

Mellin-Transform-Based Performance Analysis of FFH -ary FSK Using Product Combining for Combatting Partial-Band Noise Jamming

We employ the Mellin transform to facilitate the bit error ratio (BER) analysis of a fast frequency hopping (FFH)-assisted, M -ary frequency-shift keying (MFSK) using product combining (PC) when the transmitted signal is subjected to both Rayleigh fading and partial-band noise jamming. Exploiting the fact that the Mellin transform of the product of independent random variables is the product of...

Analytical study of FFH systems with square-law diversity combining in the presence of multitone interference

An analytical study of the performance of fast frequency-hopped (FFH), -ary orthogonal frequency-shift keyed noncoherent modulation with linear combining of square-law envelopes in the presence of multitone interference is presented. The multiple equal-power interference tones are assumed to correspond to some of the possible FFH/ -ary orthogonal signaling tones. It is also assumed that channel...
